Taco Bell to Give Sauce Packets a, ‘Spicier Second Life’, With New Recycling Program.<br />Taco Bell is partnering with recycling company TerraCycle<br />to extend the short life of its signature sauce packets. .<br />TerraCycle is renowned for collecting, cleaning,<br />melting down and remolding traditionally<br />non-recyclable materials into hard plastic that<br />can be used to create recycled products. .<br />According to Taco Bell’s<br />press release, 8.2 billion<br />sauce packets are used in<br />the United States each year. .<br />Unfortunately, there’s no <br />“widely available solution” <br />for recycling condiment packets. .<br />That’s why Taco Bell is “thrilled to leverage the<br />expertise” of TerraCycle to give its packets a<br />“spicier second life that doesn’t involve a landfill.”.<br />Together, Taco Bell and TerraCycle<br />will push the quick service industry<br />by finally finding a way to recycle<br />this type of product.
