Tripura (west) District Magistrate Sailesh Kumar Jadav has been suspended by the state government. The order for his suspension comes days after a video of Yadav stopping a wedding midway in a bid to enforce Covid-19 norms went into wide circulation on social media. <br /> <br />Earlier this week, DM Sailesh Kumar Yadav appeared before a committee to explain his actions. The panel, comprising two senior IAS officers, was formed at the direction of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. <br /> <br />"It is my duty to enforce law and order and to prevent the spread of Covid-19. I stand by whatever I did that night," Yadav had told the committee.
