Tibet's mysterious Gama Valley _ exploration and conservation

2021-05-10 17 Dailymotion

This film portrays Mt Everest's now-preserved Gama Valley -- sometimes called "the most beautiful valley in the world." The Gama (sometimes incorrectly spelled Kama) Valley is a seldom-visited, hidden valley where four summits (Everest, Lhotse, Chomolonzo, Makalu) circle magnificent forests and flowers. Deforestation of the two-meter diameter trees had started in the late 1980s when the valley became a core zone in the Qomolangma (Mt Everest) National Nature Preserve. This film is narrated primarily by Daniel C Taylor who was the principal instigator working with the Government of China to create the national park ... and subsequently other parks across the Tibet Autonomous Region.

This footage is part of the broadcast stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest collection of HD imagery from South Asia.
