Blake Shelton Joins Initiative to Provide<br />Meals to Out-of-Work Musicians.<br />The COVID-19 pandemic has <br />drastically affected the live music industry.<br />According to the Country Music Association (CMA),<br />hundreds of thousands of musicians, roadies and <br />touring industry professionals have lost work.<br />In response to the crisis, the<br />trade organization’s foundation has partnered<br />with Feeding America to provide four million<br />meals to out-of-work musicians. .<br />The food distribution will be centered in cities with<br />large populations of music industry professionals. .<br />Among those helping the CMA’s initiative<br />is country star Blake Shelton. .<br />In an interview with The Associated Press, Shelton said<br />he “[couldn’t] live with” people going to bed hungry. .<br />There are a lot of people struggling in<br />our country, and COVID has only made<br />that worse … People are going to bed<br />hungry at night now more than ever,<br />and I just can’t live with that. I’ve been<br />passionate for a long time about<br />helping folks get the food they need, Blake Shelton, to The Associated Press.<br />Shelton also told The Associated Press that the<br />best way for people to support their “favorite artists”<br />is to attend shows once it is safe to do so. .<br />The world is starting to open up<br />again, and tours and shows are being<br />announced daily.
