Sporting Lisbon fans clashed with riot police while waiting for the team bus to arrive at Marques the Pombal square where Lisbon teams traditionally celebrate the Portuguese league title.<br /><br />Thousands of Sporting Lisbon fans took to the city streets on Tuesday night to celebrate and cheer their club as it was crowned Portuguese league champion after a 1-0 home win against Boavista.<br /><br />After missing out on the title since 2002, Sporting lifted its 19th Portuguese league trophy, with two matches still to play.<br /><br />Only Porto and Benfica have won the competition since 2002.<br /><br />
