YouTube Will Pay $100 Million to Creators <br />Who Use Its TikTok Competitor, Shorts.<br />In an effort to get <br />more creators <br />to use Shorts, .<br />YouTube is prepared to shell out $100 million over the course of a year.<br />The company says it will look for channels with the most engagement and views each month and reach out to them accordingly.<br />It's not yet known how much creators can earn each month, but YouTube says "thousands" of people could get paid.<br />Anyone who posts to Shorts is eligible as long as their videos contain original content and follow YouTube's community guidelines.<br />This isn't the first time creators have been offered money to use a platform.<br />In July 2020, TikTok launched a <br />$200 million creator fund.<br />Snapchat promoted its TikTok competitor, Spotlight, by paying $1 million per day
