WHO South-East Asia Regional Director Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh on May 30 said that it’s hard to predict the next Covid-19 surge but it can be prevented, which is a must.<br /><br />Regional Director Khetrapal said, “The lesson learned from this surge is that at no cost can we let our guard down. We must take Covid-19 vaccine at first available opportunity. While we can't predict the next surge, but we can prevent it, which we must.”<br /><br />“This surge has put an immense burden on already overwhelmed health services. We're now witnessing a plateau and even a decline in cases in some parts of India. Situation continues to be of concern and challenging,” she added.
