Anadolu Efes Istanbul won the EuroLeague title for the first time in their history on Sunday with an 86-81 victory over FC Barcelona in a gripping final in Cologne on Sunday.<br /><br />Anadolu were appearing in their second successive final but went one better than in 2019 when they lost out to CSKA Moscow.<br /><br />Barcelona started well on Sunday and led by ten points during the second period.<br /><br />But Anadolu slowly began to take a grip on the game and led by seven points going into the final quarter.<br /><br />With Vasilije Micic to the fore from the free throw line, Anadolu held their nerve and became European champions amid ecstatic scenes.<br /><br />Micic ended with 25 points, while Shane Larkin added 21 for Anadolu - Cory Higgins' 23 points were in vain for Barcelona
