RTI activist Ram Vilas Singh was murdered in 2011 in the Lakhisarai district of Bihar. His son Abhishek was an eyewitness to the murder. Soon after his death, Venkatesh Nayak from the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative had alerted the National Human Rights Commission about the incident and the Commission had sought a report in the matter.<br /><br />Seven years on, two of the eight accused have been convicted in the case while some others still remain at large.
