Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad confirmed that he had received a call from PKR president Anwar Ibrahim recently and that they discussed the country's current political and health crisis.<br /><br />"He seemed to be unable to suggest anything that we could do to solve the problems we are facing, so I suggested maybe we should write to the Agong," the nonagenarian said in an online press conference today.<br /><br />Mahathir said he subsequently wrote to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong seeking an audience. <br /><br />Sin Chew Daily had previously reported that the phone call took place on the night of May 28.
