Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh will not appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday in connection with an alleged money laundering case, the second time he has pulled a no-show before the investigation agency.

In a letter to the ED, Deshmukh said he won't appear at the agency's office for questioning until he is provided with a copy of the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) and a list of documents. He also categorically denied the allegations levelled against him as malicious and false.

“Unless the said ECIR is perused by me, it will not be possible to furnish the documents sought for in connection therewith. In my place, I have appointed an authorized representative who is capable of answering all kinds of questions on my behalf,” he wrote.
