After serving guests for 30 years, Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur will close its doors on Sept 1st.<br /><br />General manager Noorazzudin Omar said the hotel's competitive advantage had declined over the years in the face of stringent competition from new and neighbouring hotels and serviced apartments.<br /><br />The situation was made worse by the Covid-19 pandemic which has crushed most hotels except those that offer quarantine facilities.
