Steamed Bao Buns Recipe<br /><br />Ingredients Bao Bun:<br />warm milk 1/2 cup<br />active dry yeast 1 tbsp<br />Castor Sugar 2 ½ tbsp<br />Salt ½ tsp<br />All-purpose flour 2 ½ cups<br />baking powder 1/2 tsp<br />baking soda 1/2 tsp<br />oil (for greasing) as required<br /><br />Ingredients for Masala:<br />cooking oil 1 tbsp <br />butter 1 ½ tbsp<br />Salt 1 tsp<br />ginger garlic paste 1 tsp<br />Onion (chopped) 1/2 cup<br />Tomatoes chopped 1/2 cup<br />Kashmiri red chili 1 tsp<br />Yogurt 2 tbsp<br />Ketchup 1/4 cup<br />Cream 2 tbsp<br /><br />Ingredients for Assembling:<br />K&N's Croquettes 1000 g<br />Prepared Masala as required<br />prepared bao buns<br />onion (sliced) as required<br />green coriander as required<br />sesame seeds as required<br />nigella seeds as required<br /><br />Directions for Chicken Bao Bun Preparation:<br />1. In a bowl add warm milk, sugar, active dry yeast and mix well. let it rest for 5 minutes.<br />2. Now in a bowl add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and knead a smooth dough. Cover and rest until doubles in size.<br />3. Take the dough and roll it down with the help of rolling pin into flat circular sheet. <br />4. With the help of round cutter, cut small circles from the sheet, brush oil on it and fold them in half. Rest for 10-15 mins before steaming.<br />5. place the butter paper in steamer, grease it with oil, put the prepared bao buns on it and steam for 10 minutes. Your Bao Buns are ready.<br /><br />Directions for Masala Preparation:<br />6. In a pan heat oil and butter and add onion, ginger garlic paste cook until translucent.\. Now add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are soft.<br />7. Add salt, kashmiri red chili, ketchup and cook for 1-2 minutes.<br />8. Now add yogurt, cream and cook for 3-4 minutes. Your masala is ready.<br /><br />Directions for Assembling:<br />9. Prepare K&N's Croquettes as per instructions on the pack. set aside.<br />10. Take the prepared bao buns and open them from the center, add masala, place the prepared K&N's Croquettes, top it with some sliced onion, coriander, sesame seeds, nigella seeds & Serve hot.<br /><br />Preparation time: 20 mins<br />Cooking time: 25-30 mins<br />Serving: 4-5
