The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on July 15 slammed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government over population control bill.“As per year 2000 population policy, TFR has reduced from 3.2% to 2.2% in 2018, without incentives. In Dec 2020, Centre in an affidavit mentioned that international experience shows that any coercion to have no. of children is counterproductive,” said Owaisi.<br /><br />“In Dec 2020 affidavit, Modi government had said that due to declining Total Fertility Rate (TFR), there cannot be a two-child policy in the country. Yogi government, on the other hand, is opposing it,” he added.
