A group of 31 activists who were hauled up by police after attending a candlelight vigil for Covid-19 deaths were released in the wee hours of the morning.<br /><br />They were each slapped with RM2,000 compounds - totalling RM62,000 - for violating regulations preventing demonstrations during the pandemic.<br /><br />They had gathered briefly at Dataran Merdeka last night for a vigil - under the heavy watch of police before being arrested.
