Naomi is the first Japanese player of history to win a Grand Slam title. <br />She's born in 1997 from a Haitian father and a Japanese mother, in Osaka, Japan. <br />She moves out in New York aged of 3 and then in For Lauredale, Florida where she still trains today.<br />Naomi has both Japanese and American nationalities but barely speaks Japanese and represent Japan only in competition.<br />She went pro at 15 and her career took off in 2016 when she became a finalist at The Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo. <br />In 2014, she beats U.S Open Sam Stosur champion on the first round and then she stands out by beating Maria Sharapova and Simona Halep. <br />Naomi Osaka made history by beating Serena Williams, her lifelong idol. <br />She could help changing mentalities and lower racism in <br />Japan thanks to her victories and be a game changer.<br />She’s also known to be committed into anti-racial cause like the Black Live Matter movement and as sign of support she wears a mask with victims's name on it at each competition.
