Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan said Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and his deputy Mohamad Hasan are still seeking feedback before the party makes a decision on whether they will go into the Malacca election alone or not.<br /><br />He said this in response to a question about Zahid's remarks on the matter and Mohamad's recent meeting with several PAS leaders.<br /><br />Previously it was reported that Zahid has stated publicly that they will not work with Bersatu during the Malacca elections but he only gave a vague remark about PAS.<br /><br />Zahid had said that the Muafakat pact is not a registered political party and he does not see a "cahaya terang" (bright light) for the pact, unlike previous by-elections.<br /><br />On October 12, Mohamad had shared a photograph of him sharing a meal with several PAS leaders, he had described the session as an "ordinary meet-up over teh tarik" after a long absence.
