'On January 15, 2019, New Yorkers witnessed a historic moment as a controlled explosion took down the Eastern Span of the old Tappan Zee Bridge, resulting in the remains falling into the Hudson River.

"This bridge will now be replaced with a 3.1-mile, twin-span bridge across the Hudson River and between Rockland & Westchester Counties," the filmer, Idalio Yan commented. "The bridge was brought down via controlled demolition."

He further added: "The reason why explosive charges had to be employed in this case was that the said span was too unstable to be dismantled."

The filmer also revealed that the said demolition had to be postponed by a few days due to heavy winds.

Name: Idalio Yan
Location: New York
'
WooGlobe Ref : WGA403851
For licensing and to use this video, please email licensing@wooglobe.com
