India saw a drop in the #GlobalHungerIndex as it was placed at 101 out of 119 countries, after it placed at 94 out of 107 countries in 2020. According to #UN reports, India is home to a quarter of all undernourished people worldwide. That’s right, one in four hungry people across the world is Indian. <br /><br />On top of it, we have the highest number of wasted children worldwide. The situation is bad, to put it mildly, and the pandemic has made things worse. <br /><br />To address our massive hunger problem, the government launched a pandemic special, the #PradhanMantriGaribKalyanAnnaYojana, a massive undertaking to feed 80 crore people for free. On paper, it's a much-needed scheme but when it comes to implementation, there were major failures. <br /><br />In this episode, we look at what the Modi government is doing to solve our massive hunger problem and the issues with food security-related schemes.
