More than 150 migrants have been picked up trying to cross the English Channel - in just one day.<br />Border force officials intercepted five different boats yesterday, in what's been declared a critical incident by home secretary Priti Patel.<br />Speaking to the home affairs select committee, Tony Smith says more needs to be done to deter migrants from risking their lives trying to reach Kent.
