The first ever successful IVF treatment had taken place in Kent 40 years ago today.<br /><br />Patrick Steptoe and Professor Robert Edward conducted the world's first In Vitro Fertilisation, a woman named Louise Joy Brown.<br /><br />Dr Julian Spinks, a GP for Strood, joined us earlier to discuss the future of free IVF treatment on the NHS.
