The mother who was sentenced earlier this year for breaking her newborn son's leg is appealing for a shorter prison-term. <br />Jody Simpson and her partner Anthony Smith were given 10 years each for allowing their son to suffer serious physical harm and neglect. <br />Baby Tony Smith survived but his adopted mother Paula Hudgell is campaigning to have the maximum term for child cruelty increased.
