Vandals have broken into Fort Amherst in Chatham causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.<br /><br />Police were called to the Napoleonic fort after the break-in last night, which is the sixth time in as many months.<br /><br />The heritage site, which is one of Medway's most popular attractions, has been searched by officers but no suspects were found.
