Canterbury Council are spending £23 million to help house residents desperate for a place to live.<br /><br />More than 2,400 families are on the district's waiting list for housing but now more than 60 new council homes will become available to them.<br /><br />It comes after the Council bought 44 student accommodation buildings in the city but there is a long way to go to meet the demand.
