The Kent police force has received record numbers of applications for new officers.<br /><br />Kent's Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Scott, confirmed that his current recruitment drive to get 200 new officers signed up has seen triple the amount of applicants compared with previous years.<br /><br />It comes after crime rates in the county increased at a higher rate than London in 2017.
