Kent's new High sheriff has been announced. <br /><br />The role which can be traced back to the 1900's has been recently taken up by Jane Ashton.<br /><br />She's taken over from George Jessel and will now take up the largely ceremonial position as the representative of the Queen in the judicial system across the county.
