The shockwaves from BN's overwhelming victory in Malacca will likely reach Putrajaya and embolden the coalition and Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob as they prepare for the next general election.<br /><br />BN has shown that, at least for the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, its Muafakat Nasional pact with PAS is irrelevant.<br /><br />However, while it may seem like a crushing defeat for PN on paper, it made inroads in several seats while achieving unexpected victories in Bemban and Sungai Udang.
