Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh polls to be held early next year, Mathura has come into focus after Hindu right-wing groups gave a number of calls related to 'Krishna Janmabhoomi'. <br /> <br />One group even sought permission to install a Krishna idol at the deity's "actual birthplace", which it claimed is in a mosque close to a prominent temple. <br /> <br />The Uttar Pradesh government issued strict orders to beef up security and section 144 was imposed in the city.
