As the Chinese New Year is coming on February 1, 2022, many Chinese-Indonesians prepare the celebration, such as the food.<br /><br />The Chinese believe that certain food brings good luck and prosperity. <br /><br />For example, noodles are believed to bring longevity and happiness, while fish symbolize prosperity. <br /><br />Though primarily celebrated by Chinese descendants living in the country, the Lunar New Year or Imlek is also enjoyed by non-Chinese. <br /><br />The celebration is more vibrant in Chinatowns across the archipelago.
