The hijab controversy which originated in Udupi spread to the rest of Karnataka on Tuesday. <br /><br />The day began with MGM college, Udupi, barring students wearing hijabs and saffron stoles from entering the college. <br /><br />By evening, section 144 was imposed in Shivamogga city following stone pelting and some students trying to tie a saffron stole to a flag pole.
