Northern Ballet's critically acclaimed production of Casanova, Kenneth Tindall's first full length ballet, is touring the UK in early 2022.
For dates see northernballet.com/whats-on.
Tindall, a former principal dancer, is a freelance choreographer and Artistic Director of Digital and Resident Choreographer for Northern Ballet.
His version of Casanova received standing ovations throughout a 2017 tour of the UK, including a sell-out week at Sadler’s Wells.
This sumptuous ballet hasn’t been seen on stage since, although the popularity of the show led to its filming and broadcast on Sky Arts and on demand via Digital Theatre.
Now Casanova is back, on tour.
It tells the story of the man himself, consumed by desires, who lived every minute in a whirlwind of scandal and decadence.
The ballet follows Casanova through his romantic and scholarly endeavours as he winds his way through the excess of 18th century high society.
But behind the mask there was more to him.
This production looks inside the heart and mind of one of the most notorious figures in history, exposing a story so sensational audiences won’t believe it’s real.
With a cinematic score by Kerry Muzzey, played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, plus opulent sets and costumes by Christopher Oram, Tindall’s Casanova is a visual and sensual feast.
