<p>Tributes have been paid to a divorced couple who were both stabbed to death - 15 miles apart. </p><p>The police murder probe is continuing into the deaths of Clive Warrington, 67, and Valerie Warrington, 73, a former married couple who were living apart. </p><p>Mr Warrington was found dead at 6.25am on Wednesday in Cheltenham, Glos., while the body of his ex wife was discovered a short while later at a property in Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds.</p><p>A man from Cheltenham has been arrested on suspicion of murder and police were today (Thurs) granted a 12-hour custody extension limit to question him, which will now expire on Thursday morning.</p><p>And shocked friends have started to pay tribute to the victims and expressed their horror at what happened.</p><p>This included surgeon Charlie Chan worked, who worked with Ms Warrington for 13 years at Cheltenham General Hospital, where she was his personal assistant.</p><p>Writing on Facebook, he said: "I am totally heartbroken at this news.</p><p>"Val was my PA for 13 years and we shared lots of happy times. Clive did work on our house and I watched their kids grow up.</p><p>"What has the world come to?"</p><p>Mr Chan also came to lay flowers outside her house today. </p><p>Speaking afterwards he he laid the floral tribute, he added: "Val became my secretary in 2000 when I first came to Cheltenham and we worked together until 2013 when I left and Val went to work in the cardiology department. </p><p>"In fact she still was still working in the cardiology department until the sad events of Tuesday morning.</p><p>"She was just the most lovely person, kind, caring, loyal, always smiling and actually nothing was ever too much trouble.</p><p>"She always put others first, which was true at work and in the family."</p><p>Speaking at an earlier press conference, Supt Roddy Gosden, of Gloucestershire Police, said the man was known to the victims and they were not currently looking for anyone else.</p><p>He added: "A man from Cheltenham has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with both deaths, which are being linked by detectives.</p><p>"The victims were known to him and officers are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the ongoing investigation.</p><p>"Family members have been informed and our thoughts go out to them at this devastating time. They are now receiving support from specially trained officers.</p><p>"This has been a challenging situation and we will be providing support to officers and all those who have been impacted by these incidents.</p><p>"Understandably people will be shocked to hear that two lives have been lost in such a tragic way.</p><p>"Over the coming days, officers will be in the local communities to provide reassurance and we would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to us."</p><p>He added that cordons will remain in place over the coming days and urged anyone with information to get in contact.</p>
