Staff from a Northern housing association have joined forces with residents from a tight-knit community to help tackle fly-tipping and clean up local greenspaces.

Housing officers from Castles & Coasts Housing Association joined Cllr Claire Rowntree, deputy leader of Sunderland City Council and residents from Gelt Crescent to help tidy up the area.<br /><br />The housing association teamed up with Cllr Rowntree and residents to fund a free waste skip for residents to dispose of any waste they have and the organising of a community tidy-up day targeting some of the worst-affected green spaces and back lanes.
