Florida Senate Passes Bill , Banning Abortions After 15 Weeks.<br />CNN reports that the GOP-sponsored bill was passed in the state's Senate on March 3. .<br />The legislation, which was passed by <br />the state's House last month, would <br />ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.<br />Exceptions would be made for situations causing "serious risk" and fatal fetal abnormalities, but <br />rape and incest will not be considered.<br />The bill will now go to Gov. Ron DeSantis, who previously implied his support for such legislation.<br />Once signed into law, the rule <br />would go into effect July 1.<br />Florida House Democrats called the legislation "a direct assault on the people of Florida and our constitutional rights.".<br />The Miami-Dade County mayor <br />also spoke out.<br />More troubling is rejecting exceptions for rape and incest, even for young girls.
