<p>This is the heart-warming moment a baby elephant trapped in a water hole was reunited with its mum. </p><p>Teams from the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Kenya Wildlife Service received reports of an infant calf who had fallen into a water hole and raced to the baby's side. </p><p>The calf had fallen into a water hole in Tsavo East National Park, Kenya.</p><p>Upon arrival, the teams drove their vehicle up to the water hole to keep the mother away before pulling the baby out of the trough.</p><p>As soon as the mother elephant realised that her baby was freed she let out a series of joyful trumpets.</p><p>The rescue team said: "The herd had exhausted all avenues to extract the baby, and the mother was reduced to despondently pacing around the periphery. </p><p>"Without intervention, she would be forced to leave her baby behind.</p><p>"When we arrived on the scene, the mother was despondent and defeated. The instant her baby was freed, however, she became a changed elephant."</p><p>The incident happened on March 4, 2022.</p>
