April 10 sees the 30th anniversary since Heartbeat was first aired on Yorkshire Television. It was filmed in the village and used many local scenes, buildings and people as extras<br />The show ran until 2010 when it was stopped. Many people feared it would decimate the tourism and economy that Goathland had benefitted from as a result of the show being filmed there.<br />However, it is still shown on ITV3 and remains very popular - it is also now shown around the world and is particularly popular in Denmark, Norway, and the village is still popular with visitors.<br />Video by James Hardisty
