<p>Huge shipping containers have been washed off cargo ships and swept away as severe flood waters hit South Africa. </p><p>Wendy, a resident of Reunion, South Africa, shared the distressing footage of the containers from earlier today (10/04) on Twitter.</p><p>She said: “This is where I live in Reunion, near the Old Durban International Airport.</p><p>“The containers are still falling, it’s really scary. Fortunately, no one has been harmed.”</p><p>KwaZulu-Natal has been devastated by floods after a weekend of persistent, heavy rainfall.</p><p>The flooding has wreaked havoc across the province with collapsing roads, severe injuries and even loss of life.</p><p>The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued an orange level 8 warning, alerting residents of the province of widespread damage and disruption from Monday (11/04) to today.</p>
