Prince Harry Opens Invictus Games with a Land Rover driving challenge

Invictus Games competitors were greeted by the Duke of Sussex as they competed for the first medals of the event at the Land Rover Driving Challenge.<br /><br />The French team took gold in the first medal event in which sixteen nations went head to head in a test of driving, navigation skills and teamwork.<br /><br />Competitors tackled tough terrain on a specially built off-road course with water obstacles, a rock crawl and steep inclines.<br /><br />The Duke awarded medals to the top finishers, with the team from France taking gold, Romania finishing second, and Georgia claiming bronze.<br /><br />The Invictus Games The Hague 2020 presented by Jaguar Land Rover is a multi-national adaptive sporting event for wounded, ill and injured servicemen, servicewomen and veterans, and includes archery, athletics, cycling, indoor rowing, powerlifting, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby.<br /><br />Laura Wood, Head of Global PR Brand and Partnerships, Land Rover, said:<br /><br />“The long-awaited Games began in true Invictus style today – with passion, team work and sheer dedication.
