Edinburgh’s Syttende mai – 17th May, or Norwegian Constitution Day - parade traditionally takes place along the capital’s main thoroughfare, Princes Street.
At the boom of Edinburgh Castle’s ‘one o’ clock gun’, the pigeons fly and the parade begins!
This year's gathering is the first since 2019, with celebrations suspended for the past two years due to the Covid pandemic.
A wreath was laid at the Norwegian Memorial Stone in Princes Street gardens, with speeches from student representatives and other ambassadors (Scottish and Norwegian - I think the consul was one) - including a thank you message from Norway's King Harald V and Queen Sonja.
The march is organised by the NORWEGIAN SCOTTISH ASSOCIATION, founded in Edinburgh in 1966.
