Ford Issues Recall, of 39,000 SUVs , Due to Instances of Fire.<br />The auto company announced the <br />recall in filings made on May 18.<br />Owners of nearly 40,000 2021 Lincoln Navigator and <br />Ford Expedition SUVs are instructed to take their <br />vehicles to the dealer for inspection.<br />The instructions state that the SUVs should be parked outside due to the risk of engine fire.<br />16 under-the-hood fires have reportedly occurred in 14 vehicles owned by rental companies.<br />12 of those fires reportedly occurred when the engines were off.<br />They have been under investigation <br />since March 24.<br />Ford officials have stated that they do not know what is causing the fires.<br />We are working around-the-clock to determine the root cause of this issue and subsequent remedy.., Jeffrey Marentic, Ford Passenger Vehicles GM, <br />via NPR News.<br />... so that customers can continue to enjoy using their vehicles, Jeffrey Marentic, Ford Passenger Vehicles GM, <br />via NPR News.<br />Ford customers will receive updates on the recall via email and the company's app.<br />An additional 310,00 Ford vehicles are also included in two other recalls.<br />2016 F-250, 350, 450 and 550 trucks <br />require repairs.<br />The air bag wiring in the <br />steering wheel is affected.<br />Owners of the 2021 464 electric Mustang Mach-E SUVs will also be notified of a recall.<br />They require repair of a software issue that causes unintentional acceleration
