Testing a Lego car against longer and longer gaps that it needs to drive over. Gradually improving the car until it becomes a capable gap crossing/bridging vehicle. Things you need to consider: wheel diameter, wheel count, 8WD, wheel position, center of mass, frame length, frame strength, moving mass, weight reduction.
