Members of the Windrush generation were joined by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to unveil a new national monument at Waterloo station to mark Windrush Day 2022. <br /><br />The monument, designed by Jamaican architect Basil Watson, pays tribute to the thousands of people who arrived in the UK from Caribbean countries between 1948 and 1971.<br /><br />It was unveiled this morning (Wednesday, June 22) at a special unveiling ceremony, attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, chair of the Windrush Commemoration committee Baroness Floella Benjamin and levelling up secretary Michael Gove MP.<br /><br />Video: LondonWorld
