The Joe Biden administration decided to send a US$800 million arms package to help Ukraine fight off a Ukrainian military offensive.<br />The weapon package consists of nearly 10,000 anti-armor weapons, 800 anti-aircraft Stinger systems, and thousands of weapons. The list also appears 100 "tactical unmanned aerial systems".<br />A United States (US) military official revealed that 100 unmanned weapons that will be delivered to Ukraine are small suicide drones called Switchblades, as quoted by ABC News, Wednesday (17/3/2022).<br />Unlike the long-range Predator drone, which looks similar to a small plane and fires missiles at targets,<br />the smallest Switchblade models can fit into a backpack and fly straight at the target to detonate its tiny warhead.<br />Less than 61 centimeters long and weighing just 3 kilograms, the Switchblade 300 can be launched from a small mortar-like tube, after which it can fly for up to 15 minutes.<br />The larger Switchblade 600 effectively immobilizes armored vehicles and can fly for more than 40 minutes, but weighs 23 Kilograms, according to the gun maker.<br />#rusia #Ukraine
