The two Carmen Suites were drawn from the 1875 Opera 'Carmen' composed by Georges Bizet and were compiled by his friend Ernest Guiraud. Interestingly, the musical order of the 2 suites is in reversed chronological order and although the suites are inspired by the Bizet Opera, they do not adhere to the operatic versions entirely.<br /><br />Les Toréadors (March of the Toreadors) is taken from the theme from prelude to act 1 and Procession of the Toreadors from act 4: "Les voici! voici la quadrille des Toreros!"<br /><br />Point Classics brings you the '30 Second Classics' series.
