The Janata Dal (United) parted ways with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, bringing a close to the alliance that emerged in 2017. JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar resigned from his post as Bihar Chief Minister and was later elected as the leader of the Mahagathbandhan. <br /> <br />He is set to take oath as the Bihar Chief Minister on Wednesday, August 10 while Tejashwi Yadav will be sworn-in as his deputy. Nitish Kumar's JD(U) and Tejashwi Yadav's RJD are likely to get 14 ministerial berths each. <br /> <br />Meanwhile, the Congress, which is also a part of the grand alliance, is likely to get three ministerial berths.
