She is known worldwide for her role in the famous musical Grease released in 1978.<br />It was a worldwide success.<br />But Olivia Newton-John was already known before that, and more precisely in the musical world.<br /><br />A look back at her career<br /><br />Born in England, Olivia Newton-John grew up in Australia.<br />As a teenager, she regularly participated in television shows.<br />She won the first prize in the talent contest "Sing Sing Sing".<br />Here are some important dates that followed : <br />1966 : Release of her first single "Till You Say You'll Be Mine".<br />1970 : Release of her first album "Tomorrow".<br />1971 : Her song "I Honestly Love You" is number 1 in the USA.<br />1974 : She finishes 4th at the Eurovision, which was won by the group ABBA.<br />1978: Her career explodes worldwide with the release of Grease.<br />1979 : She receives the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth.<br />1981 : It's the musical consecration with the album "Physical", sold to more than 2 million copies.
