As the centre and state are engaged in bitter war of words, the Supreme Court has scheduled to listen to a bunch of PIL seeking a ban on irrational freebies and poll promises. <br /> <br />The centre has demanded the formation of an 11 member committee to look into and debate and discuss the issue. The Supreme Court had earlier taken a neutral approach on the issue of freebies observing that the government must balance welfare of states and economic strain of the schemes.
