THIS is the moment furious Rory McIlroy THREW a fan’s remote control golf ball into the water.<br /><br />That’s before security promptly escorted the joker away.<br /><br />McIlroy was competing in the third round of the BMW Championship when the bizarre incident occurred.<br /><br />Lining up a putt at the 15th hole, the Northern Irish star was interrupted when a punter chucked a golf ball onto the green.<br /><br />Amusingly, the ball then began to move around by itself, with the cheeky prankster controlling it remotely from the sides.<br /><br />He appeared to be internet comedian Niko Omilana, who later tweeted: "Rory McIlroy has made an enemy for life."<br /><br />But McIlroy failed to see the funny side during the second tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs.<br /><br />As the ball darted around his feet, McIlroy attempted to block it with his putter.<br /><br />He succeeded when the fan failed to control the ball into the hole.<br /><br />McIlroy then stared at the wag before hurling the gadget with all his might.<br /><br />There was no mistaking where he had intended to throw it.<br /><br />That’s because the ball plonked straight into an open lake of water next to the course.<br /><br />McIlroy triumphantly watched on as the owner of the remote-controlled ball became upset.<br /><br />But the comedian had little time to protest as security quickly descended before hauling him off the course.<br /><br />The man was jeered by the crowd as he was taken away.<br /><br />But the moment appeared to get to McIlroy, who ended up missing his birdie putt at the hole.<br /><br />However, he pulled things back, later on, to finish with a 70 for the round.<br /><br />And McIlroy is just five shots off leader Patrick Cantlay.
