<br />To develop the dairy sector in Burkina Faso, the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries, through its Animal Production Department, has undertaken several actions. <br /><br />The Ministry is working to increase animal production by crossing local breeds with imported breeds in order to have cross-breeds capable of producing milk in large quantities. It is trying to improve their nutrition through the production of feed.<br /><br />This department has launched projects such as the Support Project for the Development of the Livestock Sector in Burkina Faso (PADEL-B), which aims to develop the entire value chain. There is also the dairy development project in the peri-urban area of Ouagadougou, which aims to build a factory producing 30,000 litres of milk per day, milk collection centres and a breeding unit for performing cattle in "Komki-Ipala".
