The Prison Department has refuted rumours that former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak was not being held in a jail cell in serving his 12-year prison sentence for misappropriation of funds.<br /><br />The rumour that was spread through WhatsApp recently allegedly cited an anonymous source who worked at the Kajang prison, claiming that Najib was instead placed in a house meant for "senior prison officers".<br /><br />The Prison Department said the information is not true and called on the public to stop spreading it.
